Overview
Position Summary: The Director of Data Center Operations oversees the day-to-day operations of Critical Facilities Management teams, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives for optimal operating results. This role plays a pivotal part in driving Revenue, Operating Profit, and operational excellence within the Data Center business, involving high-level engagement with key stakeholders throughout the ABM enterprise. The incumbent is tasked with developing and implementing short and mid-term strategic plans for sustained growth while prioritizing client satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Overall P/L responsibility for the data center business (approximately $65M in annual Revenue).
Develop and implement the strategic plan for the mission-critical business, including goals, objectives, annual plans, budgets, policies, and operating plans.
Budget planning and forecasting for the assigned business unit.
Manage complex budgets and strategic plans, communications, and control activities to ensure ongoing fiscal management.
Assist business development, including technical writing support for RFP/Bid responses and customer relationship efforts.
Implement cost control measures to protect operating profit margins.
Ensure compliance with ABM, Federal, State, and Local policies and regulations.
Lead in intercompany interaction, training, and development within ABM.
Identify, develop, implement, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reporting requirements.
Analyze operating results and take corrective actions to achieve annual goals and objectives.
Establish and maintain effective communication throughout the business unit.
Ensure staff engagement and retention.
Evaluate business unit structure, policies, procedures, and staffing needs.
Identify development needs of existing staff and coordinate necessary training.
Provide oversight for contracts and ensure contract compliance.
Ensure customer satisfaction through the use of ABM-provided systems.
Gain a full understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment and systems for all facilities contracts.
Provide feedback and collaboration for the development and implementation of site-specific MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.
Oversee Incident Management and conduct RCA meetings following unplanned outages.
Plan, staff, and supervise all work through subordinate managers and staff.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Support ABM and ATS initiatives related to highly technical clients.
Foster a culture of OneABM across ATS and ABM IGs for both sales and operations.
Experience and/or Education:
Four-year technical or engineering degree (mechanical or electrical) or equivalent (advanced degree preferred).
Seven years hands-on experience in data center or mission-critical facility services management.
Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, teambuilding, employee engagement, and process development skills.
Strong familiarity with MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs for Data Center or Mission Critical Operations.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
TS/SCI clearance preferred; ability to attain and maintain the clearance access.
