Job Description
Purpose:
The Director of Development Operations enables the success of the Engineering Development Office operations to enhance the overall effectiveness of the Engineering development team in collaboration with key College of Engineering divisions (Business Services, Events & Donor Relations). This development operations professional serves as a liaison connecting integral internal functions, triaging incoming development inquiries, facilitating donor relations and stewardship, and managing communication efforts for the Engineering Development Office to enhance engagement and inspire philanthropic giving building a culture of philanthropy. This position is responsible for coordinating stewardship and donor visits in collaboration with college development officers and college staff.
Responsibilities:
Development Operations & Rhythms
Assist in creating operational rhythms and calendars which anticipate the delivery needs of the College and enable development efforts to operate effectively and efficiently.
Execute reporting and administrative processes for the development team as requested.
In coordination with College Alumni & Donor Relations team, prepares executive presentations to a variety of audiences/constituents and ensure all development officers are adequately prepared for internal and external meetings.
Assist with pre and post-op briefings for high profile meetings and strategic engagements to maximize both 1) the relevant information provided prior to and, 2) the new relevant information learned from the meeting.
Work with Engineering Development Officer team to proactively identify issues that impede fundraising or operational success and provide solutions and recommendations.
Support daily operations of the development team.
Assist AVP with the annual budget preparation process for the development operations, routine travel approvals and expense report tracking.
Contribute to team effectiveness through knowledge-sharing and proactively identifying process improvements
Be fully trained in the Foundation’s fundraising software, currently SalesForce, in order to assist the Donor Engagement with entry and documentation of stewardship activities.
Donor Engagement & Stewardship
Support in sustaining and executing donor stewardship related to scholarship/fellowship awarding operations and activities.
Work with college business team to provide account/endowment updates for the development team, donors and faculty
Work with AVP and college support team to conceptualize and execute customized endowment reports along with impactful donor outreach and campus experiences.
Collaborate with AVP in recommendation and implementation of donor recognition and stewardship of college donors, prospects, and friends along with key constituents showing appropriate and meaningful gratitude.
In coordination with AVP and development officers, ensure that all college donors are thanked appropriately, timely, professionally, and accurately and execute connections such as birthday/anniversary/sympathy cards, etc. on behalf of the development officers.
Maintain a comprehensive calendar of EDO events.
Support stewardship efforts of EDO by maintaining an active stewardship portfolio of principal level donors.
Assist with coordination of Development Councils or Volunteer Boards.
Assist AVP in implementing special projects and strategic initiatives to support development operations.
Coordinates with college business office on scholarships, professorships and chairs awarded to notify donors.
Works with college business office on donor projections to help ensure that resources are maximized at the highest level.
Provides college business office with new donor agreements in a timely manner to ensure that new accounts are established to execute the donors intent; includes all new gift agreements for scholarships, professorships and chairs.
Coordinates with college business office to ensure that donor intent is met with professorships and chairs, assisting with the reconciliation of donor agreements, and consulting with engineering faculty services.
Works closely with the college business staff team to ensure that donors are supplied the appropriate information in a timely manner.
General Fundraising Responsibilities
Utilize Foundation resources and collaborate with internal supporting departments to enhance purposeful fundraising efforts.
Facilitate processes in conjunction with engineering development officers that enable effective funding proposals, communications, and partnerships with planned giving, corporate, and foundation entities.
Utilize Foundation’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) fundraising software to assist the Division with entry and documentation of development and stewardship activities.
Contribute to team effectiveness through knowledge-sharing and proactively identifying process improvements.
Adhere to the CASE Statement of Ethics and Donor Bill of Rights.
Additional Duties

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ten years of related experience in management.
