The successful candidate will work with CMRR faculty to ensure the efficient conduct and flow of research projects and successful progress towards goals. The projects will include those that aim to understand brain and body function and to prepare for upcoming clinical trials in various diseases, including neurological and metabolic diseases and cancers. The CMRR is one of the world's premier magnetic resonance imaging facilities, with considerable expertise in imaging physics, engineering, and clinical research. The Center focuses on development of unique magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and spectroscopy methodologies and instrumentation for the acquisition of structural, functional, and biochemical information non-invasively in humans, and utilizing this capability to investigate organ function in health and disease. Collectively, the approaches and instrumentation developed in CMRR constitute some of the most important tools used today to study system level organ function and physiology in humans for basic and translational research, and are increasingly applied world-wide. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Project Management and Communication (75%) Work with investigators to track progress of study milestones and facilitate formal reporting of metrics to study sponsors. Develop and implement comprehensive timelines, project plans, and identify resources to manage and meet deadlines. Responsible for handling, triaging, and ensuring satisfactory follow up of all operational inquiries in the supported projects. Manage tasks, and projects in relevant tracking systems. Document all inquiries and follow-up actions. Schedule and lead meetings for multi-institutional teams. Summarize, identify, and triage action steps/to do items for each meeting along with often competing timelines. Manage data transfer agreements with relevant parties Effectively deliver, track, and manage project data, in consultation with respective PIs. Ensure timely data flow by communicating with site investigators in consortia. Coordinate open-access publication of the data from the project as applicable in consultation with respective PIs Engage with key stakeholders in projects to ensure deliverables are clear and will be completed by the agreed deadlines. Regulatory & Protocol Management (20%) Create and implement study protocols with long-term monitoring of protocol adherence. Offer support for reporting and regulatory requirements, including those of Institutional Review Boards and sponsors (NIH, FDA, foundations). May participate in subject screening, recruitment, consenting, data collection and database management. Other duties as assigned. (5%) This position will work on site at CMRR. About the Center The is an interdepartmental and interdisciplinary laboratory that provides unique instrumentation, expertise, and infrastructure to enable the faculty, trainees and staff at U Minnesota and other institutions to carry out basic biomedical, translational and clinical research utilizing the capabilities of high magnetic fields. The CMRR receives exceptional institutional support: U Minnesota built the original 40,000 sq. ft facility and has made substantial investments for all MR systems located in CMRR. U Minnesota and the State of Minnesota have invested again to expand CMRR to a 100,000 sq.ft. facility and acquire major new equipment. The primary goal of this new investment was to facilitate translational clinical research; hence great care was taken for accommodating patient/subject handling facilities with over a 1000 sq. ft of space for waiting/reception area and conference rooms for su ject interview and staging rooms adjacent to each magnet suite. In addition, 3000 sq. ft. is dedicated to Clinical Research for human subject preparation and nursing support. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS BA/BS with at least 5 years of experience or advanced degree with 3 years of experience. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficiency with standard computer resources and software (e.g., Microsoft Office), project management tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in order to coordinate and problem-solve across multiple research projects. Strong communication, documentation, and data management skills. Ability to manage work amidst changing priorities. Ability to work independently; high level of self-motivation. Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work under tight deadlines or changing needs. Positive attitude when working in high-impact environments. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous clinical research experience. Demonstrated experience in providing support for multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in data management. Ability to analyze, design and optimize complex processes.
