JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job ID: 20328 The Director of Multicultural StudentServices will provide overall leadership and administrativeresponsibility for the Multicultural Student Services (MSS) office atUW-Stout. Their responsibilities include leading the development andexecution of strategic initiatives, managing the unit\'s budget, andsupervising a team of five staff to foster student success and sense ofbelonging for historically underrepresented students. The director playsa vital role in ensuring the implementation and delivery of studentservices that contribute to the retention, persistence, and graduationof underrepresented students. Additionally, the director will serve asan advocate for student development, ensuring that students are aware ofand effectively utilizing campus services. This position will activelypromote leadership opportunities for both students and MSS staff whileguiding the development of multicultural education programs. Thisposition will report to the Executive Director of Student Inclusion andBelonging. RESPONSIBILITIES Provides leadership and direction to theMulticultural Student Services (MSS) office. Directs strategic planninginitiatives and establishes unit objectives to ensure appropriate use ofresources. Develops short- and long-range goals for MSS, and work withstaff to develop and reach goals. Develops operating policies andprocedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and unitobjectives. Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises staff, graduateassistants, and/or student workers. Develops and implements the unitpersonnel resource allocation plan including hiring, training,supervision, and resolution of non-routine personal issues. Providesleadership for programs and services supporting the successful collegetransition, retention, and graduation of historically underrepresentedstudents. Serves as the unit liaison by collaborating with internal andexternal stakeholders to advocate for multicultural students andproviding organizational information. Develops positive relationshipsand collaborates with other campus agencies in the development and/orsupport of programs and services which retain, empower, and promote thesuccess of underrepresented racial and ethnic minority students.Collaborates with offices within an intersectionality and social justiceframework that promotes inclusive excellence and an equitableenvironment for underrepresented students. Upon admittance, works withthe MSS team in helping underrepresented students matriculate to theuniversity. Works to advance college priorities for improved studentaccess and retention of historically underrepresented students(Stoutward Bound, Multicultural Living Community, retention outreachinitiatives, etc). Provides direct service to MSS students as anadvisor, mentor, and advocate. Experiencein the supervision and evaluation of professional staff. Demonstratedprofessional experience working with and supporting diverse populations,identities, and backgrounds with significant contact with historicallyunderrepresented/underserved populations. Evi ence of significantprogrammatic experience such as but not limited to planning, eventmanagement, program evaluation.
