I. Job Summary
The Director, Strategic Sourcing is a member of the Procurement Leadership Team responsible for:
Achieving and sustaining $240M to $480M of auditable annual savings over a 2.5 year period (of which there is 1.5 years remaining)
Broadening functional focus from sourcing to complete and cost-effective end-to-end supply chain management
Improving internal stakeholder perception of the function in order to expand its involvement in spends not historically managed
Selecting and developing people resources within the function to build a world-class level of capability and performance
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Work hand in hand with VP Supply Chain to develop long term and annual initiative plans for Supply Chain department to achieve strategic objectives
Manage and own tracking and verification of anticipated and realized savings (in total cost of ownership terms) for the supply chain department relative to engineering and construction projects for recycling, renewable energy, and landfill construction services. Work with the other Supply Chain Directors (category owners) to pressure-test savings initiatives, savings estimates, and timelines. Identify risks to value capture (magnitude and timing) and push development of mitigation plans
Lead transformation efforts (e.g. procurement waves, supply-chain efforts), generating step-change savings. Identify opportunities, scope initiatives, and assign manage teams of business analysts to execute these initiatives. Help teams develop total cost of ownership reduction and negotiation strategies. Ensure close coordination with field resources, internal customers, and supply-chain category owners
Manage team of sourcing specialists to perform category-specific analyses as needed; work with category owners to identify needs for such efforts, assign resources, structure the work analysis, pressure-test the results
Develop credible communications of supply-chain savings across the company; ensure clear separation between EBIT improvements vs. capital savings vs. cost avoidance
Fosters and sustains collaborative relationships with Company managers and executives impacted by Procurement results
Leads/coaches/develops people resources and role models effective professional behaviors at all times
Demonstrates competency in setting negotiation strategies and planning for execution of same; fostering use of appropriate analytical tools by team; leading problem solving activities with team and developing team to do the same; building credibility with other internal organizations and constructively dissenting when appropriate to push organization to pursue maximum value; communicating effectively with internal and external partner organizations

IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Engineering, Sciences, or Technology
Experience: Ten years of prior procurement work experience with five years directing or managing corporate or division procurement organizations (in addition to education requirement). Alternatively, equivalent experience in procurement consulting services or similar analytical roles (e.g. Finance) and a track record of collaboratively driving change working with field and corporate organizations.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
C.P.M or CPSM acknowledged

Possess environmental and sustainability experience
