  POSITION SUMMARY

  The primary focus of the Director, HR Information Systems (HRIS) is to provide continuous functional, technical, and strategic leadership in the development, implementation, refinement, support, and coordination of enterprise-wide Human Resources software. These systems ensure HR business and operational effectiveness. This position is hands-on and requires strong knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Workday HCM and experience with ATS, timekeeping and learning management software. This role serves as the organization leader and as a technical point-of-contact ensuring data integrity, strategic system upgrades and changes, operational effectiveness and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities.

  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  Evaluates, analyzes, designs, and maintains the company Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Workday.

  Assists in identifying new HR needs and the software products.

  Provide support for all HR applications and systems (HCM, ATS, LMS, performance management, onboarding software).

  Responsible for driving innovation and process improvement to support long-term human resources business priorities and strategies.

  Oversee HR related technology projects and work collaboratively with all functional areas of HR and IT to create solutions that address current and future needs.

  Provide monthly metrics for HR functional departments, with ability to create ad-hoc reporting.

  Identify areas for improvement in both the processes and systems; continuously research new system functionality/trends and HR best practices.

  Document standard processes/procedures; create user guides and checklists for functional practitioners.

  Participate in the testing and implementation of all system upgrades and rollout of new features; coordinate all user testing and parallel run activities.

  Serve as help desk for HRIS requests (detect, troubleshoot and resolve issues).

  Provide technical support and serve as a subject matter expert to educate system end users on how to navigate and use the system, as needed.

  Develop and maintain process documentation.

  Train new system users as well as develop user procedures, job aids, guidelines and documentation.

  REQUIREMENTS

  Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (e.g., Information Systems, Human Resources, or Business) is strongly preferred, or commensurate HRIS work experience.

  7-10 years of relevant experience in Human Resources, or an HRIS analyst role or in a similar/equivalent position

  Progressive and proven HRIS experience, leading teams through analysis, design, and administration of projects

  Knowledge of Workday HCM required; experience with applicant tracking, timekeeping and learnings systems preferred.

  Excellent communication skills are keys for this role, as this role frequently interacts with Senior and Executive Management as well as our field HR teams.

  Strong customer service orientation and ability to maintain a professional, friendly demeanor.

  Solution oriented.

  Solid business acumen.

  Excellent analytical skills and the ability to collect and analyze data and present findings.

  Critical thinking skills and being able to work independently.

  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

  Solid ability in identifying and resolving problems in a timely, effective manner.

  Insurance industry experience an asset.

  Experience with change management a plus.

  Ability to travel (10%)
