Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for administration, cloning and performance tuning of allOracle databases and relevant application environments.
Investigate, analyze, and apply patches to Oracle Databases and relevantapplications.
Proactively monitor Oracle systems and applications, to ensure secureservices, minimum downtime, and proper performance of all environments.
Troubleshoot issues and escalate as necessary to Oracle Support, ITManagement, and Functional teams when appropriate.
Take part of the DevOps process, as needed, for implementing databasechanges as submitted by the development team.
Responsible for the installation of new Oracle environments as required.
Work closely with the DevOps team and software engineering teams,regarding system/application improvements that may benefit the overallhealth of the environments.
Self-motivated to work with others, as well as research as needed toaccomplish tasks.
Ensure proper uptime of Oracle databases and Oracle Golden Gateenvironments.
Responsible for migrating outdated Oracle versions to current stablerelease versions that fall into normal Oracle support.
Need to be a team player that is willing to work with othercross-functional teams.
Required Skills
6+ years managing Oracle Enterprise level database server environments.
6+ years of Production Oracle DBA experience.
Oracle Database Technology (19c) on Linux/Unix and Windows.
Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) setup and maintenance, with in-depthexperience of the tool.
Experience managing multiple RDBMS environments (Patch, Development,Test, Production)
Practical experience in monitoring and tuning databases to provide highavailability service.
In depth knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and tuning.
Backup and recovery skills using RMAN.
Setup and monitoring experience with Oracle Golden Gate.
Backup and DR strategies for Oracle production environments.
Demonstrated passion for learning new technologies.
Capable of mentoring Oracle Developers and/or other DatabaseAdministrators, to ensure cross training opportunities are realized.
Must have good oral and written communication skills and the ability towork independently as well as in teams.
Must be able to prioritize assignments, be self-motivated, and possessthe ability to work with limited supervision.
Desired Experience
AWS Database Administration of EC2 or RDS environments.
Cloud monitoring and alerting.
AWS DMS experience.
PostgreSQL or other SQL platform experience.
