Job Description
The Director of HCP Consulting Management is directly responsible for the implementation management and continuous improvement of HCP contracting and reimbursement activities in the OCA Region including US Latin America and Canada. The incumbent works closely with Legal Compliance Business and other relevant OCA and regional colleagues to develop implement manage and update as necessary compliant contracting strategies and practices between OCA and HCPs. Director of HCP Consulting Management works closely with counterparts at other Regional Business Centers including OT OEKG OCAP OCSM to ensure that all consulting activities involving OCA HCPs follow applicable laws regulations and policies. This position requires Knowledge of OCA's HCP contracting process; Knowledge of applicable US Federal and state regulations; Familiarity with relevant regulations outside the US and within the OCA region; Strong processes and staff management skills. Director of HCP Consulting Management is responsible for the HCP Consulting Management Department its staff policies and procedures. The incumbent will oversee the daily work of departmental staff interact with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to Improve workflow and processes Ensure all transactions are compliant and properly documented As needed improve and update practices to continuously enable efficient professional customer-friendly and compliant process of contracting with HCPs. Successfully meet and pass all internal end external audit and testing requirements. He/She will have experience managing change within an organization and experience leading cross functional teams in order to deliver results under Pressure.
Job Duties
Develops negotiates implements and as necessary updates strategy objectives and optimal processes for HCP-CM function.
Partners with and supports business in the development of Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for all services requiring the utilization of HCP consulting services.
Supports business as needed to ensure that the selection of HCP consultants is made on the basis of a specific bona fide business need and the consultant's qualifications and expertise.
Ensures that existing processes for HCP contracting screening tiering FMV assignment reimbursement (HCP-CM Processes) are followed including in the situations where HCPs located in the OCA region provide consulting services to Olympus entities located in other geographies.
Ensures that HCP-CM Processes are periodically reviewed and updates as necessary.
Maintain thorough knowledge of OCA's HCP contracting process applicable US Federal and state regulations OCA Healthcare Compliance Code of Conduct and all associated standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensures contracts with HCPs are in compliance with OCA policies and codes including but not limited to the Healthcare Compliance Code of Conduct and associated SOPs.
The incumbent will be responsible for referring potential legal or compliance issues to the OCA legal and compliance departments as appropriate.
Track metrics and create a monthly report for stakeholders and upper management updating the activity of the department and the status of HCP contracts and payments.
Monitors incoming requests from stakeholders and prioritizes streamlines and expedites the contracting and payment processes to best meet stakeholder needs.
Review monitor and assess services rendered pursuant to HCP Agreements to ensure receipt of appropriate work product in exchange for payment i.e. to confirm services are performed at fair market value.
Provides oversight and management as appropriate to ensure that payments for services rendered are processed in a timely manner and that the database containing HCP agreements is properly/accurately updated.
Identify issues problems and potential improvements with the software and tools used to track HCP engagements/payments and assist in facilitating bug-fixes and improvements.
Exhibits all corporate and divisional expectations of people leaders to include but not be limited to developing employees managing employee performance/engagement promoting continuous improvement managing department business/communications driving organizational alignment selecting/retaining talent and consistently modeling excellence integrity and accountability.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in an applicable field (or suitable alternative education/degree combined with equivalent experience) is required. Advanced degree is preferred.
Minimum of 7 years combined experience in roles requiring detailed work in a business process is required
People management experience is required.
Evidence of process management and/or process improvement activities is required.
Minimum of 4 years experience managing HCP-CM or similar department.
Must be PC literate (MS Word Excel PowerPoint Project).
Preferred:
Contract management experience is highly preferred
An understanding of marketing professional education and sales training roles within a medical device or pharmaceutical company would be beneficial.
Evidence of being an advanced user of Excel is a plus.
