　　The Director of Visa’s Government Engagement in Central Europe is a key senior leadership role focused on Visa’s European government and regulatory strategy and engagement in for our key markets of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland Liechtenstein and the Netherlands. The role entails shaping, owning, and driving a forward-looking strategy in this region to ensure regulatory/policy frameworks are conducive to a fair, competitive, innovative, and successful operating environment for Visa's current and future business.

　　Based in Frankfurt, the Director will have to travel to Vienna, Amsterdam, and Zurich on a regular basis.

　　Job Description Taking strategic ownership and initiating execution of a pro-active short, medium, long term Government Engagement strategy that will strengthen Visa's position in these key markets.Delivering well-articulated succinct assessments of developments in the policy and regulatory landscape which highlight immediate risks and opportunities but also emerging trends that can affect the business in the medium-long term. Ensuring that these assessments include actionable recommendations and engagement strategies where necessary which are fully aligned with commercial objectives to drive positive business impact.Are seasoned and confident working closely with the most senior leadership in the markets and across the region and globally, as a trusted strategic advisor on subject matter and their engagement externally in policy matters where appropriate. Own, manage and continue to build trust-based dialogue with senior legislators, government officials, regulators, and policy makers in these markets that may impact Visa's business and to enhance Visa's reputation and competitive position in these markets.Be a key leader in the Europe region in devising holistic positions on key European and Global policy and regulatory matters, collaborating closely with the appropriate functions and teams internally. Always being cognisant of potential global implications of local issues and coordinate their management with regional and global colleagues.Be comfortable owning and managing multiple complex projects and take pride in strong execution with a flexible and positive attitude. The ability and willingness to play a key role in developing strategic positions on country, regional and global public and regulatory policy positions for Visa will be very important.Promote Visa's reputation and profile where appropriate be confident speaking at public events, hearings, industry legislative conferences, association committees and roundtables.Foster and provide support to Visa Government Solutions´ team to ensure Visa is well positioned to take advantage of potential partnerships with national government agencies in the stimulating digital payments, smart cities and other potential government projects that may benefit from the application of electronic payments.Responsibility managing the Government Engagement budget and resourcing in these markets.Coordinate public engagement and communications activities with hub, the rest of the GE leadership team in Europe and global colleagues across multiple functions including Corporate Communications, Marketing, Legal, Product, Risk, and others to ensure consistency and maximum impact.  

　　This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
