  Reporting to and under the leadership of a new Dean, or designee, the Executive Director for Student Success and Chief Student Affairs Officer is responsible for providing visionary leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight to ensure the delivery of an exceptional and transformative student experience that supports retention and degree attainment across all programs. To achieve this, the ED will lead the student experience and engagement strategy, academic support and advising, stakeholder engagement, assessment and reporting, and all leadership and staff development for the teams they manage.

  The Executive Director for Student Success and Chief Student Affairs Officer will also:

  Direct and delegate the day-to-day activities of the holistic student experience including advisement, retention, cocurricular student experience, and other student services at the School, creating a comprehensive and cohesive student experience and student success plan.

  Direct and oversee the academic Advisement area and lead reinvigoration of goals, objectives and student support levels.

  Supervise the Student Services leadership team, including student counseling services, disability services, student life, career services, student conduct, and military and veteran services.

  Pioneer and execute a cutting-edge, best-in-class model for adult student online advisement and digital student services, setting new standards in contemporary educational support, including intrusive and high-impact strategies designed to enhance the complete student experience life cycle, from enrollment to graduation, in order to provide scalable and personalized support to students.

  Develop, maintain, and execute student communication plans and direct outreach via a variety of channels.

  Partner and collaborate with the enrollment team on engagement strategies for adult online students.

  Oversee student success outcomes assessment to significantly improve rates of adult student persistence and retention.

  Track and analyze staff response times to ensure timely accommodation of student needs as they emerge.

  Develop and implement new programs and services in response to the needs of students as expressed and captured through polls, questionnaires, focus groups, evaluations, and meetings.

  Collaborate with Information Technology to ensure excellent software and support technologies. Integrate and utilize such tools as predictive analytics to track student challenges and design prompt responses to and resolutions for them.

  Maintain current knowledge of State and Federal statutes, rules, and regulations as they apply to student development and services functions. Communicate necessary information to stakeholders, facilitate implementation of new requirements, and monitor compliance, including the timely submission of data and information requested/required by State and Federal regulatory and accrediting agencies.

  Develop and upgrade procedures that demonstrate improvements relating to the student success functional areas, including routine student needs assessment, establishing quality standards and metrics for student services and the student experience, and frequent evaluation of student satisfaction with all aspects of engagement with SPS services and classes.

  Collaborate with colleagues to ensure excellence in all student support systems throughout the School and speedy resolution of student issues and complaints in compliance with School and University policies and procedures.

  Fulfill other leadership responsibilities, management duties and projects, as assigned by Dean.

  QUALIFICATIONS

  This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

With a strategic mindset, this individual will have a proven track record of developing and executing plans to achieve a shared vision of the future.

  The preferred candidate will also have an exceptional ability to navigate complex organizational structures and drive change. Specific experience and attributes will include:

  Master's degree from an accredited university in a related field.

  Minimum of seven to ten (10) years of experience in advisement or student services administration in higher education at a senior level

  An extensive record of achievement and innovation in the higher education student experience field.

  Proven experience with an online adult student population.

  Working knowledge of student-facing technologies.

  Demonstrated knowledge of student success, advisement, and service functions and the administration of such functions in an online environment.

  Demonstrated experience in organizing, developing, and implementing operational systems in a student-centered university setting and managing a high-volume workflow office.

  Excellent leadership skills and ability to communicate diplomatically across broad constituencies.

  Demonstrated knowledge of principles and processes for delivering class-leading customer service levels.

  Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and the integration of excellence in all student support endeavors.

  COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  Salary range of $140,000 - $150,000 commensurate with education and experience.
