  Description

  THE ROLE

  Responsible for the overall management and operations of Inpatient Clinical Nutrition Services, Health Education Services and Outpatient Diabetes Services across the Oregon region. Accountable for business operations, strategic planning, innovation and transformation, project management, human resources, marketing, and outreach for each service line. Direct supervision of Program Managers and Supervisors in each of the ministry Clinical Nutrition Services, Health Education & Outpatient Diabetes clinics across the Oregon Region. Maintains staff, customer, and vendor relationships and business development partnerships. Responsible for oversight and maintenance of national certifications for quality standards (DPP, AADE/ADA, MBSAQIP).

  To promote positive interactions and relationships with physicians, administrators, managers, staff and the community resulting in integrated systems of care for a quality, seamless customer experience.

  To provide leadership direction and support in a dynamic, changing health care environment.

  To provide high community and system visibility for regional programs.

  To provide quality services and meet growth targets in a highly competitive health care environment.

  To stay visible and connected to operations that are geographically challenging.

  Ensure Clinical Nutrition compliance with regulatory (Joint Commission) standards across all ministries in Oregon.

  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  Leadership:

  Responsible for the overall management and operations of Clinical Nutrition Services, Health Education Services & Outpatient Diabetes Services across the Oregon region.

  Accountable for business operations, service line strategic planning, innovation and transformation, project management, human resources, marketing, and outreach.

  Provides coaching and guidance to Program Managers and Supervisors in managing daily operations of each service line, annual budget planning and financial analysis.

  Coordinates with ops/project teams to achieve effective programs and services; organizing and planning; tracking and reporting progress.

  Participates in strategic planning as part of the management team for Ambulatory Services. Prepares strategic plans and oversee tactics in collaboration with Program Managers and Supervisors.

  Operational Direction, Efficiency and Effectiveness:

  Promotes integrated, effective services that ensure excellent customer service, quality standards and operational connectedness.

  Mentors managers and supervisors to ensure program components are performing efficiently and are effectively responding to customer needs.

  Conducts regular program evaluation; tracks utilization and develops management reports to evaluate the effectiveness of programs.

  Accountable for quality, service, cost and outcome standards for programs and services.

  Ensures compliance and documentation requirements are met to achieve/maintain national certifications.

  Innovation, Development and Promotion:

  Identifies new program opportunities and develops supporting business cases and financials.

  Provides strategic direction for the development, implementation and management of new programs and services.

  Operational Direction, Efficiency and Effectiveness:

  Partners with Medical Directors and other key stakeholders to develop, grow and maintain programs.

  Collaborates with community partners to spread relevant programs to key under-served and/or vulnerable populations.

  Primary connection point with hospital ministry leadership for program direction and ongoing evaluation

  Innovation, Development and Promotion:

  Promotes integration of services and marketing of programs through multiple distribution channels.

  QUALIFICATIONS

  Bachelor's Degree - preferably in Nutrition, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or a related healthcare field.

  Master's Degree (preferred)

  Registered Dietitian (preferred)

  Upon hire: CDE credential (preferred)

  7 years of work experience in management and program development in healthcare

  Experience with adult health education or patient-centered learning

  Experience in integrated healthcare organizations (preferred)

  Working knowledge of outpatient operations, healthcare administration/promotion, payer contracting, marketing, and research preferred

  This position requires business, planning, writing, facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to work with multiple people towards a common vision or goal

  Must have skills in managing, planning, budgeting/financial analysis, decision-making and project management

  Must have strong team leadership skills and the ability to operationalize the health system's vision

  Must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians and other health care managers, directors and administrators

  Must possess a working knowledge of inpatient and outpatient operations, health care administration, contracting, marketing, sales and research.
