The Workpartners Compliance Director strategically leads the development and management of a robust regulatory compliance program for the Workpartners of UPMC Insurance Services Division (ISD). This role oversees compliance of UPMC ISD with federal and state laws and regulations and statutes for all Workpartners business lines, including, but not limited to, workers’ compensation and leave and disability.
This Director ensures sound regulatory judgment and interpretation along with effective compliance communication to the organization. The Director assists operations in implementing a structured and coordinated regulatory program to enhance the Workpartners ability to assist with the business needs.

Responsibilities:
Assist and facilitate the enhancement of the WorkPartners regulatory compliance program and maturity level
Implement and execute effective monitoring, tracking and reporting requirement to verify success of the WorkPartners regulatory program, as measured by assessments and metric-based analysis.
Ability to project manage compliance requirements for the WorkPartners business.
Evaluates and approves the Compliance work product for WorkPartners
Ensures that all Compliance goals and objectives are met in a timely, effective fashion.
Performs a gap analysis based on risk assessment
Directs and coordinates the daily activities of Workpartners Compliance staff.
Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviorsPerforms other duties as assigned.
Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders, including federal and state regulatory entities, quality assurance and FWA among others.
Build, improve and drive consistency of workers' compensation, wellness and leave management's regulatory objectives, processes and tools.
Partners with business and operational leaders, cross-functionally and collaboratively, to develop a structured coordinated and effective regulatory framework for review, interpretation and communication
Develop and deliver clear, effective and timely regulatory communication and updates for compliance committees, senior management and/or the Board, regarding regulatory effectiveness, initiatives and issues, including all relevant metrics, dashboards and information.
Keep current with workers' compensation, wellness and leave management standards and requirements, including all relevant laws, rules and industry standards and company practices.
Enhance effective regulatory training program for end users to properly educate employees and business partners regarding regulatory requirements and responsibilities.
Track record of successful staff management.
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree or JD preferred.
Minimum of eight years of substantive regulatory review with increasingly progressive responsibility.
Functional subject matter expertise in enhancing a large heavily regulated workers' compensation compliance program required.
Minimum of five years of work experience in a managerial/leadership role (i.e., managing a team, either directly or indirectly)Proven ability to effectively and timely manage multiple initiatives and cross-departmental projects.
Strong acumen and understanding of worker's compensation, wellness, health insurance, and company licensure strongly preferred.
Requisite expertise and experience with workers' compensation standards and requirements and maintaining a comprehensive regulatory process.
Strong verbal, written, and auditory communication skills.
Strong ability to synthesize complex regulations and clearly and concisely articulate the relevant points.
Strong program and project management skills and experience required.
Ability to influence at all levels of the organization, including executive management; the Board; regulators; employees; customers; partners and vendors.
Highly consultative and partnership-oriented in approach.
Strong emotional intelligence and self-awareness required.
Ability to independently and self-sufficiently identify and navigate various operational issues
