The Direct Support Professional will provide direct support to individuals or small groups of individuals who experience developmental, intellectual and/or physical disabilities. This position can be either full time or part-time.
This position focuses on building trust, establishing rapport, and having fun while teaching and modeling skills that foster independence and community integration as outlined in the recipients Support Plan.
Responsibilities:
Understanding each individual's disability and adjust support based on their needs and abilities

Confidence and dignityProvide engaging and enriching activities based on their needs and abilities
Being flexible in activities, capabilities, safety, energy levels and interestsMaintain flexible scheduling and coordination of activities
Ability to adapt quickly, use critical thinking and adjust schedules as needed, based on clients needs, schedule changes and weatherPerforming daily/shift housekeeping duties to ensure the site is clean and safe
Sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathroom/kitchen, activity room, vehicle, snow removalTransporting clients, using company vehicle or escorting on transit system bus, to and from personal appointments and community events
Ability to drive safely, valid license, keep vehicle log and safety checksCompleting accurate notes and records of supports provided
Use technology- based record keeping and written logsReminding clients of medications as needed
Assistance with self-administration of medication when required in support planOther duties as assigned based on the needs and abilities of individuals
