　　Required Education & Experience:Bachelors degree in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology, or Social Work and at least 5 years of directly related experience. One (1) to two (2) years of experience in intercollegiate athletics or three (3) years in a clinical setting.Expertise in one or more of the following areas is required: stress management, substance abuse and alcohol education, eating disorders, crisis management, depression, anxiety, grief, identity crisis and other psychological issues related to injury and rehabilitation in competitive athletes. Required specialized training in sport psychology, kinesiology, and/or AASP certification as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC).Required Skills & Abilities:*Knowledge of psychotherapy and clinical/counseling psychology.*Commitment to diversity and demonstrated competency in multicultural counseling skills.*Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with University and NCAA rules.*Knowledge of measurement - (MBC) based care to inform mental health treatment.*Personal qualities and skills that enable effective interaction with the sport medicine staff, athletic department, colleagues, administrators, faculty, and student-athletes.*Knowledge of and adherence to professional, legal, ethical, and professional standards endorsed by licensing professional organization.*Ability to work autonomously to conceptualize, diagnose problems, and implement appropriate treatment solutions.*Ability to make accurate judgments concerning the physical, emotional, and educational welfare of student-athletes.*Ability to educate and present to the athletic department community a wide variety of psychological topics.*Ability to present and represent Temple University at local, national, and international conferences.*Knowledge of community-based mental health resources.*Strong work ethic.*Ability to work evenings and weekend hours.*Ability to travel.Preferred:*Master's Degree*Training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Suicide Risk Assessment/Intervention, Crisis Intervention, Personality Disorders, Mindfulness, Emotional Regulation and/or Behavioral Analysis.*Training and experience working with substance abuse and addiction.Certification or Licensure Requirements:*Licensed in the State of Pennsylvania as a psychologist, counselor, or social worker within six months to one year of employment.*Licensure must be maintained as a condition of employment.Temple University is committed to a policy of equal opportunity for all in every aspect of its operations, including employment, service, and educational programs.
