Permanent position / Edmonton
ICI Alberta is looking for an experienced Reporter/Editor who will be assigned primarily to present the Vidéojournal and produce digital storytelling in all its forms. You must be interested in new production formats, including vertical video. You will be asked to provide multiplatform news coverage on a regular basis.
You will also file live and taped reports as assigned. You will write articles for the Radio-Canada website in Alberta. You will pitch, research, write and present news stories for broadcast on local and national programs. You will report for all editorial platforms as assigned.
This is a permanent, full-time position whose schedule may include weekend, evening and early morning shifts.
We are looking for a candidate with the following
University degree or equivalent.
Three years’ directly related experience, including proven ability in the field and knowledge of the broadcasting industry.
Excellent reporting and interviewing skills.
Ease with live reporting.
Excellent command of French (French-speaking work environment).
Ability to develop your own story ideas.
Intermediate oral, writing and reading proficiency in English (BBB).
Knowledge of Alberta affairs and Franco-Albertan community issues.
Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada journalistic and programming policies.
Ability to work flexible hours and on weekends as needed.
Ability to work with a variety of teams.
Critical mind.
Proven ability to work in a high-stress, tight-deadline environment.
Experience working on multiple stories simultaneously.
Understanding of the public broadcaster’s role and responsibilities.
Valid driver’s licence and a driving record that meets the criteria of CBC/Radio-Canada’s insurance company.
Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada production applications (iNews, Dalet, Media Central, Scoop, Picto, Adobe Premier, video editors) an asset.
