  Job Description

  AECOM is seeking an experienced Inspector to perform construction engineering and inspections on a variety of construction projects including railroad, bridge and highway in Connecticut. Come join our team on these exciting projects!

  Oversees construction inspectors on assigned project ensuring compliance with all codes, rules and regulations. When appropriate, recommends or causes others to issue notices of violation, stop work orders and temporary approval for occupancy.

  Provides overall guidance and supervision of subordinates.

  Serves as technical expert in field inspections ad audits, recognized as the 'go-to' expert internally and externally.

  Provides guiding direction for inspections on engagements.

  Sets direction and goals for inspection and/or business line.

  External spokesperson on technical project issues.

  Work directly with construction contractors.

  Qualifications

  Minimum Requirement:

  High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of relevant experience performing inspections on related bridge and/or roadway construction projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  Valid U.S. Driver's license.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  BS Civil Engineering or related curriculum.

  Experience working with Connecticut Dept. of Transportation (CTDOT)

  Experience supervising / managing less experienced inspectors.

  Willingness to work flexible schedules as needed for projects, including overnight work.

  Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification, Engineer In Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE) license

  NICET certification (or ability to obtain required level).

  Offered rate of compensation in Connecticut will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $44.65-$82.60.

  Additional Information

  This position has driving requirements, a company vehicle is not provided. Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM’s background check process to ensure compliance with the Company’s driving standards.
