Job Summary
Digital Channel Specialist is responsible for day-to-day catalog managementand product content across a wide array of merchandise. The Digital ChannelSpecialist is also responsible for the product criteria and standards for oure-commerce websites. The products range across three core markets ofConstruction, Industrial and Utility with further subcategories supportingeach market. The Channel Specialist will focus on developing standards thatwould best meet customer expectation and focus on improving overall customerexperience through our digital channels. The Digital Channel Specialist willwork with market and category management to develop and implement productmerchandising strategies.
Responsibilities
Essential FunctionsFocuses on search optimization, configuration and customer experienceTakes on role of digital subject matter experts for core market/category andpersonalize content and product metadata to best meet customer expectations.Reviews web page design, content, and functionality for clarity,consistency, and ease of use.Manages messaging for product, category, and home pages of the websitesObtains high resolution stock images or physical samples of products fromvendors for photographySubmits error and new features tickets to the Development team and follows upaccordinglyKeeps up to date with digital and eCommerce trends and brings up newinitiatives to move business forwardWorks with market, category, operations, IT, and communications tooffer product solutions and promotions to promote a great customer experienceUses market research and customer insights to define critical data andoptimize data and metadata to meet customer expectations and improve overallcustomer experience.Uses Google Analytics to pull reports regarding sales and growth opportunitywithin ecommerceProvides product merchandising insights on borderstates.com to create a bettercustomer experience.Analyzes customer interaction on web to create optimized category,landing, and homepage designs on all platforms.Collaborates with market and product managers to develop promotionalefforts, share of wallet type content, search optimization,configurations, working with manipulating data to improve the CXCollaborates with subject matter experts to develop data definitions,technical data standards, business rules, and attribute/metadata schemafor parent/children relationshipsGoverns products changes through workflow using Stibo STEP Product InformationManagement (PIM).Approves and rejects changes to data and taxonomy schema using workflow tools.Optimizes workflow bases on category of products to meet specific customer andbusiness needs.Manages product metadata and product relationships within the PIM systems toensure it is easily discoverable and meaningful to supporting sales tools andchannels.Manages inbound data and mapping from vendor and industry product data feeds.Manages PIM product lifecycle and how it relates to the customer experience inthe digital sales channels.Aligns process to ERP product lifecycle.Non-essential FunctionsSupports adoption of workflow across departments and integrating to currentmaterial create process.Manage custom content and features to meet needs of alliance customersAssists in improving internal and external keyword search relevancy.Provides oversite of catalog production in open market and customer focusedcatalog development. Creation and maintenance of catalogs will be managedin-house and through third party catalog production partnersProvide support to for campaign and promotion of material for strategicvendorsAssists in market research and analyze customer behavior to recommendimprovements.Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate.
Qualifications
A four-year business, computer or technical degree required.2+ years' experience in a marketing, merchandising or analytical role,preferably in a wholesale distribution environment.High proficiency in MS Office tools, primarily Excel with PIM experiencepreferred.Experience with ecommerce systems preferred
