AutoNation Headquarters Date: 11/27/2023 Proposed Business Title: Engineer, DevOps Job Code: (TBD by HR) Division/Business Unit: Information Technology Reports To: DevOps Director Work Location: Corporate Office, Fort Lauderdale FL Position Summary: This role’s primary responsibility is managing AutoNation’s software delivery pipelines and infrastructure. It includes version control management, build automation, test orchestration, infrastructure provisioning (IaC), configuration management, deployment automation, and monitoring. Other responsibilities are serving as technical lead to assigned projects; code releases; L2 support for incident management; and general process automation. The applicant must be adept to working in a highly fluid environment with frequent changes to scope and timelines. Candidate must be a self-learner with abilities to quickly absorb new and emerging technologies. Other key requirements are sound troubleshooting skills, effective communication style, and a collaborative attitude. Organizational Relationships: This role reports directly to the DevOps Director for administrative needs and the DevOps Leads for technical direction. It also requires frequent interaction with most of AutoNation’s IT teams including - Application Development, QA, PMO, Security, Network Engineering, Data Management and Infrastructure Engineering. Job Responsibilities: Build and manage code release pipelines in DIT, QA, Stage and Production environments Build automation using Azure DevOps Pipelines for .NET and JAVA applications Test orchestration/Code Linting (unit, integration, functional) Infrastructure automation (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CF, Azure ARM Work independently with minimal assistance on assigned projects Define non-functional requirements Collaborate with architects to deliver infrastructure design Implement the infrastructure design Create technical documentation Provide Level 2 production support as needed for the following environments: AWS, Azure and On-Prem datacenters Attend daily standup meetings, weekly team meetings, and bi-monthly 1:1 meetings Qualifications: 2-4 years of experience with the following technologies in AWS, Azure and On-Prem AWS: ECS, Lambda, SNS/SQS, RDS, ElasticSearch, Networking, Storage Azure: APIM, AKS, Service Fabric, App Services, Azure SQL, Networking, Storage On-Prem: Windows Server, IIS, MSMQ, SQL 2-4 years of experience automating the provisioning cloud resources in AWS and Azure 2-4 years of experience managing API layers with an API Management tools (Azure APIM, MuleSoft, Apigee) 2-4 years of experience implementing process automation using scripting tools and languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, and other related languages 2-4 years of experience managing enterprise on-prem infrastructures (VMs, LBs, Network protocols, Windows Server, Linux) Experience troubleshooting full stack implementations from client to backend systems using tools such as APMs, Network Sniffers, Debugging Tools, Log Parsers Familiarity with coding standards such as MVC, client-side frameworks (Angular, React, JS/jQuery), asynchronous programming, web sockets (SignalR), web APIs, SOA, SQL and mobile clients is a plus Familiarity with ALM and release management processes Bachelor’s degree in technology or equivalent job experience AWS and/or Microsoft Azure certification preferred Next Possible Position: Senior Engineer Physical Requirements: Ability to work in AutoNation Corporate Office (Fort Lauderdale, FL) Hybrid WFH policy (3 days onsite, 2 days offsite).
