Join our Development team as a Development Officer III. This is an externally facing position responsible for securing philanthropic funds from current and new donors to support Second Harvest Heartland s general operations, programs, and capital expenditures. They will identify, recruit, solicit and cultivate individual relationships working with a portfolio of Major Donors and are responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of fundraising strategies, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Accountable for individual fundraising goals, and organization-wide goals. Develops and maintains strong relationships with individual and foundation donors with a solid level of intuitive people skills and ability to sell a concept. Performs some project management functions. You will collaborate with the Director of Individual Giving, Senior Director of Development and the Chief Development Officer to successfully broaden private support, grow the donor pipeline, upgrade levels of giving, and provide increasing levels of general operating support for ongoing and expansion programs. To thrive in this environment, one must be results-oriented, prospect-focused, collaborative, and intuitive, able to network and proactively engage with donors in a multitude of settings and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Starting Pay Rate: $88,000 - $98,000 USD annually / Dependent on Qualifications and Experience. Work Schedule: Hybrid, Full-Time, 40 hours / week. Duties and Responsibilities: Identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of Major Donors including targeted plans for each assigned donor and prospect. Develop and implement a strategic plan of action with objectives, timelines, and evaluation plans for a prospect portfolio with an emphasis on prospecting. Generate qualified leads and potential partnerships through strategic outreach and cultivation activities. Write and coordinate communication needs, collateral materials, solicitation materials (proposals and letters), etc. Participate in securing event sponsorships for the annual Dish Gala, and other major fundraising events. Maintain an effective program of stewardship for managed donors; adhere to the highest ethical standards; reflect optimistic and positive attitude and convey sensitivity to needs of the donors. Ensure all donor data is recorded and used to best advantage in the Second Harvest Heartland Blackbaud fundraising CRM system. Work collaboratively with department staff to ensure proper documentation, acknowledgment, and recognition. Meet annual goals regarding prospect identification, cultivation, outreach, solicitation and revenue production.
