The Desktop Engineer I will plan, manage, and execute the onboarding/offboarding process, including scripting software installation packages, imaging, distribution, and security patching. This position will also research, plan, and manage the maintenance and upgrades to the InTune environment. Ensures all support requests are recorded in a timely, courteous, and accurate manner. Escalates issues within the IT department. Liaison for Level II Information Technology support and executes, monitors, and completes assigned tasks on multiple computer systems and platforms. Essential Job Functions: * * Plans, facilitates, designs, and manages the development and support activities in the desktop engineering space, enabling a positive end-user experience. * Independently research, plan, design package, deploy , and troubleshoot all workstation software packages. * Initiate, manage, plan, maintain, and enhance the InTune environment. * Initiate, manage, create, deploy, and maintain workstation images, seeking to automate and streamline operational tasks whenever possible. * Manage all monthly patching. * Manage and maintain the deployment platform. * Knowledge of silent/unattended installs and scripting (Powershell). * Provide backup support for VDI Engineer. * Diagnose, identify, isolate, analyze, and resolve problems with hardware, software, network, and system/applications utilizing technical skills, historical database records, and knowledgebase documentation. * Ability to multi-task and maintain a high level of customer service. * Essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities: * Ability to communicate in English with individuals at all levels in the Company in an articulate, professional manner. Excellent English oral and written communication skills required. * Expert knowledge of Microsoft InTune. * Expert experience with OS patching. * Expert knowledge of Windows and Microsoft O365 products. * Knowledge of computer imaging, Ivanti preferred. Education, Experience, and Certification: * * Associate degree or 4 years equivalent work experience. * 2 years of recent InTune experience. * 2 years of recent imaging and Service Desk experience. * Microsoft certifications preferable. *Minimum requirements needed to perform the job.
