+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+| The Garner Senior Center is seeking a friendly, energetic, and || motivated individual to support administrative and operational || activities for 6-15 hours per week. || || From 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, the Garner Senior || Center offers programs for active seniors (55 years and older). After || 5:00 PM, programs for adults (16 years and older) are provided. The || Garner Senior Center is used on weekends for classes, group || functions, community rentals, and other activities. An average of 200 || participants visit the Garner Senior Center daily. |+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+| |+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+| Examples of Duties: |+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+| Greet participants and tour new participants || || Answer and direct phone calls || || Set up classrooms || || Assist visitors with registration for all Parks, Recreation and || Cultural Resources Department programs, park shelter and ball field || reservations, facility rentals, etc. || Process payments for programs and rentals using RecDesk management || system || || Perform other administrative tasks to support full-time staff, || including room reservations || Multi-task and reprioritize frequently || Operate A/V equipment (training provided) || Follow building closing procedures at the end of shift || Monitor supplies and the facility for the safety and comfort of || participants || Assist evening class instructors with participant registration as || needed || Assist with Town-wide special events (approximately 2-3 times per || year) || Clean tables and surfaces between classes |+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+| Minimum Qualifications: |+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+| Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and comfortable working || independently and occasionally alone. || Applicants must be able to safely set up and reposition classroom || tables and chairs, including folding and unfolding tables and chairs || and moving them to other rooms within the facility. || Applicants must be able to safely lift 25 lbs. || Proficiency with operating a multi-line phone system, Microsoft || Office (Publisher, Word, Excel), and web-based registration software || is required. || Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification || within 6 months of hire is required. || Must attend monthly staff meetings. || || Preference will be given to applicants with experience working in the || field of Parks and Recreation or specific experience working with || active older adults. || Preference will be given to applicants that are available to work two || afternoons per week and Saturdays. |+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+| Additional Information: |+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+| A monthly staffing schedule will be completed by the supervisor in || advance. || || Employees may request to be scheduled for more frequent weekend || shifts if they are available. || || Equal Opportunity Employer |+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+
