Prepare and coordinate construction documents, 30% of the time: Research, program, plan, design, and administer building projects for clients under the supervision of a licensed architect, by applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials and systems. Architectural concept design, 15% of the time: Discuss architectural ideas and spatial planning through loose sketches and rough models; Build architectural proposal under the direct supervision of a licensed architect, which considers and responds to site conditions and opportunities; Prepare project briefs for Bergmann's engineers, landscape architects, and/or outside consultants engaged in the project; Engage in preliminary selection of materials and finishes. Detailed design working with project team, 10% of the time: Plan and program layout of project(s); Coordinate and integrate engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval. Surveying onsite work at client facilities, 10% of the time: Review all existing surveys of the client's property, including floor plans, elevations, sections, site plans, etc. as a foundation for drawing an accurate visualization of project plans. Engineering coordination, 5% of the time: Works in tandem with highly collaborative multi-discipline design teams throughout each phase of the project. Problem-solving for design solutions 5%: Produces construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit. Code analysis and research, 5% of the time: Identify and review relevant building codes for project site; Identify occupancy classification, sprinkler systems, construction type, allowable floor area, building height and number of stories, location on property and means of egress; Incorporate code limitations into project design. Materials and products analysis and research, 5% of the time: Assess performance characteristics of materials and building components; Evaluate project contexts and client needs; Evaluate physical properties and sensorial aspects of building materials in light of overall design concept. Specification writing 5% of the time: Assist in drafting contract documents to define scope of work for contractors, including defining the technical information of products and their installation procedures. Research project related functions and technologies to build credible expertise specific to project types, 5% of the time. Assist programming and planning, 5% of the time: Support licensed architect with the research and decision-making process for each project; Help to identify the scope of work to be designed and performed.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior DesignRequires 3 y. exp. as an Architect preparing construction documents in the retail area & executing schematic design plans and elevations for client proposals. Must include 3 y. exp. using Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Photoshop, Illustrator, Enscape & SketchUp.* May work from home up to 2 days per week. Must work from office at least 3 days per week*
