Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Design Engineer - Entry Level. This role is based out of our Waukesha, WI location.
Design Engineer - Entry Level will provide support for the development, design, manufacture, testing and application of new and existing substation transformers. Responsibilities will include actively participating in product training to learn parameters and features of transformer design. Under the guidance of a more senior engineer, responsible for completing weekly Engineer To Order substation transformer designs on time and with minimal production issues. Work with more senior engineers to resolve product and manufacturing problems of a non-standard or non-repetitive nature related to design and performance. Participates in various task forces to become familiar with processes utilized by the plant. Responsible for accuracy of production per drawings and specifications and will work with the more senior engineers to identify opportunities to improve productivity in the manufacturing process.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $65300 - $115700 a year.

What you’ll do:
Creates product drawings and 3D models. Manages these artifacts utilizing SAP PLM.
Designs custom industrial equipment (Electromechanical) within standard requirements to meet customer specifications and industry standards.
Reviews and interprets design specifications to establish customer requirements.
Processes design order information, collaborating with Marketing and Sales as needed, to guarantee customer satisfaction.
Supplies all information to create material masters, bill of materials, and characteristic data in SAP.
Prepares customer drawings and manages any product documentation updates.
Generates manufacturing information accurately and in the time that is expected. On Time To Commit (OTTC) and design errors are key metrics to track performance.
Learns the various components that are needed in the product design. Continuously expands knowledge of the products.
Provides technical support to manufacturing regarding problems relating to custom designs, specification and functional performance.
Completes design and information requests for Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sales according to the procedures established by the business
Performs other related activities and special projects as assigned. Works directly with more senior engineers to learn processes and product features.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution required.
Co-op/Internship experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
Ability to work in the US without company sponsorship
Experience with any CAD system (Inventor, AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.), can include coursework
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
1+ years of design experience with electromechanical systems
Experience with custom engineering designs and processes
Knowledge of power systems, distribution/power transformer products/applications, and/or industrial automation/controls
Demonstrated proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD tools with electrical or mechanical systems. Knowledge of standard industry drafting/modeling practices
Experience in creating, loading, and storing engineering designs within an ERP system, preferably SAP
Familiarity with FEA, modeling, detailing and layout drafting techniques
Ability to excel as a team player by successfully collaborating with engineering peers as well as cross-functional personnel to ensure custom designs meet customer expectations
