About the role: The Senior Manager, Clinical Data Management of provides leadership to a team of Medical Data Specialists in the Clinical organization. Through collaboration with clinical core team members, ensures clinical programs are carried out to a standard consistent with regulatory, corporate and clinical policies and procedures. This role is responsible for managing staff conducting clinical site opening, maintenance, and closing including execution of staffing plans and training, coaching, and development. The Senior Manager will interface with cross-divisional clinical leaders and with other departments to ensure clinical deliverables are met with the highest quality and standards. Your responsibilities will include: Responsible for managing and supervising of clinical data management staff in accordance with BSC policies. Provide directions, guidance, support, training, mentoring, development plan to staff. Manages interpersonal issues and manages conflict resolutions. Develops staffing plans for the clinical data management function and makes hiring decisions and leverages/allocates appropriate resources to support the clinical organization and interfaces with Project and Program Managers / Directors and other management to develop objectives for the clinical data management function and to gather performance feedback. Oversees data management activities and deliverables for company sponsored clinical trials. These data management activities include, but not limited to, creating study specific CRFs, authoring database specification, configuration and validation, authoring data management related plans, performing data reviews and queries, and providing data management related training to the clinical study personnel. Responsible for the provision of meaningful metrics to support the clinical organization and ensures staff is trained on the study specific materials, which include protocols, study tools, etc. Ensures that best practices of study conduct are leveraged across the clinical organization and implements process efficiencies where possible and coordinates global harmonization among staff through other clinical functional line managers. Partner with cross functional study teams and CDM vendors and to ensure advancement of the projects and programs. Provide data management expertise and support using data management best practice methods associated with product and process development, validation and controls. Interfaces as Subject Matter Expert and acts as coach and mentor with vendors performing functional tasks. Responsible to determine, implement and execute vendor oversight activities for outsourced clinical data management tasks. Develop and maintain application-oriented data management policies, procedures, and guidance documents to support divisional quality system requirements. Identify and lead VIPs and initiatives that improve efficiencies in product and process development through information sharing, optimization of data collection, review, and database build. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and ensures staff adheres to the appropriate application of clinical research conduct, laws, regulations, and standards, and compliance with applicable BSC SOPs and policies.
