Responsibilities Serves as Deputy Commander of a Defense Contract Management Agency Operations Region. Provides Command and Control mission responsibility and oversight of Contract Management Offices (CMOs). Formulates and institutes local policies, programs and objectives impacting on the mission of the Region Command. Plans, directs, and leads the overall staff, including the solving of operational problems of national significance. Advises and consults on the formulation, development and implementation of programs for acquisition contract management. Plans, presents and executes budgets. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for a Deputy Regional Commander, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in, or related to, this position. To qualify for the NH-04 level, specialized experience must be at the NH-03 or GS-13 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Planning and executing complex, multi-faceted projects or programs. Researching, analyzing, interpreting and applying rules, regulations, and procedures. Planning, presenting, and executing budgets for projects, programs or studies. Analyzes performance data and operating reports against program objectives/outcomes to determine operational projects, programs or studies. Negotiating with contractors, procuring activities and high-level officials regarding diverse contractual issues. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
