In this position, you will assist engineering in the development and support of new and current designs of the Commercial Solution Division's welding and plasma cutting systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Set-up and execute various types of engineering tests including, but not limited to V-A curves, heat, dielectric strength, ingress protection, PCB qualification, and reliability tests.
Diagnose and correct issues resulting during production, development, and sustaining engineering efforts (cost reductions, end of life parts, alternative sourcing, etc).
Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production test equipment, analyzing manufacturing line failures, and facilitating corrective actions through engineering, manufacturing, quality, and materials groups.
Fabrication of sheet metal and plastic components to support prototyping and EI projects.
Work closely with Miller's Third Party Certification Coordinator to construct, revise, and keep current third party reports such as CSA, CE, CCC, ETL, NOM, etc.
Create and sustain manufacturing test documentation.
Sustain a safety focused culture within the laboratory environment.
Resolve production issues via call-in support on weekends and evenings as needed.
Perform quality audits on finished goods and accessories.
Two (2) year technical degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology or related field.
Previous experience in engineering product development and/or support is preferred.
Must be a highly motivated team player with a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write accurate and concise documentation is expected.
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and as an individual contributor with minimum supervision.
Must have experience with sheet metal, hand tools, and power tools. Fabrication experience preferred.
Good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel (capable of creating graphs).
Ability to provide program support of PLC or LabView based applications is a plus.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Position requires bending, sitting, squatting, climbing, and standing.
Up to 5% travel may be required.
