North Country HealthCare (NCHC) is transforming healthcare for ruralArizonans. NCHC is a primary care, federally qualified health centerwith a teaching and learning mission. These things allow us to providecoordinated health care across the Colorado plateau to some of the mostvulnerable rural populations in the United States. We have clinics in 12rural communities -- divided into an east, central, and western region-- throughout the northern half of Arizona. The DCMO position could bebased in Flagstaff or in the region of oversight.

Our model allows us to practice medicine the way itshould be practiced by fostering strong provider-patient,provider-provider, and provider-staff relationships, and deliveringappropriate care in a \"one-stop\" model.
Duties of the DCMO are approximately divided to 60% administrative, 40%clinical. You will be able to continue as a practicing clinician in thisrole.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
Assist the Chief Medical Officer by bringing together primary andmulti-specialty care experts with ancillary medical services, includingbehavioral health, dental, and pharmacy under one roof. Help to maximizedoctors and services in \"one shop\" to deliver coordinated andcollaborative health care that enhances quality outcomes, efficiency,and the patient experience.
Value a positive and welcoming approach to patient care, particularlyfor underserved people in our geographic location.
Advocate wellness for patients along the health continuum, fromintensive, preventive care to treating multiple, complex, chronicillnesses. Invest in our patients by implementing strategies that helpprevent complications from chronic complex medical problems.
Take ownership of patient outcomes. Participate in leadership meetingsto represent patients to the entire group to enhance accountability andcollaboration, as well as foster ongoing innovation.
Basic Qualifications:
A medical degree (MD, DO) is required with a specialty in IM, UrgentCare, Family Medicine, OB/GYN, or Pediatrics. Previous practice in arural CHC, FQHC setting is preferred. A graduate degree or equivalentcareer experience in public health, health technology, or relatedquantitative field is preferred. Ideally, we would like to see a minimumof five years of clinical leadership responsibility at some level withina healthcare organization. That could be leadership in a department, asa clinic lead, a clinical standards committee, etc.
