  DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs our intern, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with the regional biologist team, gaining hands-on experience and practical skills in aquatic biology. You will assist the biologist in both field and laboratory work, following Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) protocols. As your skills develop, you will be given more responsibility and training in using scientific keys to identify aquatic organisms at the family and genus level.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Full-time internship that will last from 5/1/2024 through 8/30/2024Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunchTelework: Interns will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, on a schedule that aligns with their supervisor, so they are in the office on the same days. No full time telework will be approved. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wilkes-Barre.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.   Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree, or advanced degree program in one of the following majors:Wildlife and Fisheries ScienceBiologyAn approved major course of study at an accredited college or universityFreshman year completedGood academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university

  This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.How to Apply:
