What is the job?
As a Demi Chef de Partie Pastry, your role will primarily focus on ensuring the smooth operation of the pastry section within the hotel kitchen. You will prepare high-quality pastry items, supervise junior pastry chefs, maintain financial control, enhance guest experience, and promote responsible business practices.
Your day to day:
PEOPLE
Supervise and mentor the junior pastry chefs, ensuring proper training, guidance, and support.
Foster teamwork and maintain a positive and professional work environment within the pastry section.
Encourage skills development and provide regular feedback to team members.
Promote a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and high performance within the pastry team.
FINANCIAL RETURNS
Assist in budgeting, inventory management, and controlling food costs related to the pastry section.
Optimize efficiency and minimize wastage by implementing effective production and portion control measures.
Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef to create cost-effective and innovative pastry menus.
GUEST EXPERIENCE
Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality pastry items that meet or exceed guest expectations.
Collaborate with the F&B team to develop and implement pastry offerings that enhance the overall guest experience.
Proactively engage with guests to gather feedback, understand their preferences, and make necessary improvements.
Respond to guest requests and complaints promptly and courteously.
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene standards and promote adherence among the pastry team.
Follow sustainable practices in sourcing ingredients, minimizing waste, and reducing environmental impact.
Stay updated with industry trends, new techniques, and innovative pastry concepts.
Collaborate with other departments to support responsible business initiatives and promote social responsibility.
What do we need from you?
Previous experience as a Pastry Chef, Demi Chef de Partie Pastry, or similar role in a reputable hotel or fine dining establishment.
Strong knowledge of pastry and baking techniques, including the ability to create a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Understanding of financial aspects, including food cost control, budgeting, and inventory management.
Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high standards.
Awareness of sustainable practices and willingness to contribute to responsible business initiatives.
