Position Title: Delivery Driver - Class B Location:Madison, WI Shift: Monday - Friday As the \"face of Airgas\", theDelivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently deliveringcompressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers froman Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight orbox truck. The Delivery Driver loads, unloads, delivers, and returnscompressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with Airgascustomers. Safely loads, delivers and unloads cylinders containingcompressed gases to customer locations. Delivers compressed gascylinders to external and internal customer sites. Records deliveriesand pick-ups on a load manifest and obtains signatures from customersfor receipt purposes. Collects empty cylinders or rejected or unsoldmerchandise. Returns empty cylinders to either a plant or branchlocation for refilling. Establishes and maintains good customerrelations. Listens to and helps resolve service inquiries andcomplaints. Provides timely communication back to manager or to thecustomer\'s assigned Airgas sales associate regarding any changes orissues experienced by the customer. Performs cylinder inspections peroperating procedures. Maintains load manifests and all required vehicledocuments by ensuring they are properly completed and reconciled withtruck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries. Ensuresthat vehicle manifests, vehicle placards, cylinder labeling and loadnesting and strapping at all times comply with Airgas safety standards(SAFECOR) and all government regulations including, but not limited to,those issued by the Department of Transportation (DOT), EnvironmentalProtection Agency (EPA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration(FMCSA), Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and the Occupational Safetyand Health Administration (OSHA). Performs pre-trip and post-tripvehicle inspections documenting deficiencies; ensures all safety itemsare in good working order. Strictly observes all safety rules andpromptly reports any accidents or injuries to management. Operates apallet jack, forklift and other warehouse equipment. Works in warehouseor on dock as needed.
