  Job Description Summary

  The PennSIVE Center, a group of quantitative experts specializing in imaging data science, is seeking to recruit a neuroimaging data analyst. Data analysts play a central role in large-scale projects that seek to understand the healthy brain and neurological and psychiatric diseases. Within these projects, they work in a team environment collaborating closely with a diverse, multi-disciplinary group of faculty and trainees from biostatistics, psychiatry, neurology, radiology, and engineering. Primary responsibilities include management, processing, and analysis of high-dimensional imaging data. Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on the successful candidate's skills and interests. All analysts additionally lead independent projects where they write first-author manuscripts.

  Job Responsibilities

  Automated image analysis pipeline development and management. This involves computer programming to process images

  Manual segmentation analysis of magnetic resonance imaging. This involves manually delineating structures in images by drawing

  Helping draft abstracts and manuscripts as well as generating results, tables and figures

  Creating slides using LaTeX and PowerPoint

  Run simulation studies

  Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  Position is contingent upon continued funding.

  Qualifications

  Bachelor's degree with major in Psychology, Statistics, Computer Science or related field, and 2-3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience in biomedical or psychological research or data management preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with linux/unix/bash scripting is preferred; extensive knowledge of tools useful in manipulating and converting data; facility with numbers and meticulous attention to detail; experience with statistics and statistical programming (R preferred); programming experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages preferred; capacity for learning new technical skills independently; experience with neuroimaging tools (SPM, AFNI, FSL) preferred

  $51,824.00 - $80,000.00 Annual Rate

  Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
