About Customer Service Representative

Description We are in search of a Customer Service Representative in the health insurance industry. Located in Austin, Texas, this role is a short-term contract position in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The main focus of this role is to provide exemplary service to members and prospective members, handling inquiries and resolving issues related to dental and vision plans, services, and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Exceed member service standards by handling dental and vision insured and prospective members' inquiries in a timely, courteous and diplomatic manner

• Respond to member inquiries that range from routine to complex, requiring in-depth knowledge of Dental Vision Plans, Services, and Procedures

• Utilize probing questions and active listening to understand member issues or questions, showing empathy and compassion

• Research and resolve issues or complaints and determine appropriate resolutions

• Educate and influence members and prospective members on the value and benefits of the offered plans

• Keep member accounts up-to-date and complete transactional requests during the call

• Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell, requiring a transfer to a licensed representative

• Meet business production goals and objectives as established

• Stay updated on all changes to Member Service policy, procedures, marketing campaigns, Associations, and product/services/solutions information to accurately and consistently respond to member inquiries

• Facilitate first call resolution on all transactions handled. Requirements • Possession of excellent customer service skills, with a proven ability to handle customer inquiries and resolve issues effectively.

• Prior experience within a call center environment, demonstrating strong telephone etiquette and communication abilities.

• Knowledge of health insurance industry, including understanding of insurance benefits and related terminologies.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume customer service environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with relevant software applications.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to convey complex information in a simple, understandable manner.

• High level of professionalism and a customer-centric approach.

• Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, if required.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.

• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training programs.
