This position is a Provisional Competitive Civil Service Position and requires the applicant to be either:

　　Currently working in, or previously held a Custodian civil service title; or,

　　Other candidates who have equivalent education and licensing are encouraged to apply and will be considered as allowed per Civil Service regulations. This applicant would be required to take the Civil Service Custodian exam when offered and be reachable from the eligible list.

　　Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a 2nd shift Custodian (2:30pm-10:00pm) with full benefits. This position is responsible for the efficient and economical cleaning and maintenance of a building on an assigned shift. The interested applicant must have the ability to supervise the work of others. Must also have knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment sufficient to lead and particpate in the cleaning of large size institutional buildings.

　　Typical Work Activities:

　　Supervise and participate in all building cleaning activities;

　　Assign tasks, give instructions in the use of building cleaning supplies, materials and equipment and checks to see that assignments are carried out;

　　Perform a variety of semi-skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrial and othe building maintenance tasks;

　　Check to insure that buildings are heated, cleaned, locked and in readiness for all activities; and

　　Related work as required.
