Cultural Resources Specialist Lead/Senior

We are hiring a Cultural Resources Specialist Lead/Senior towork for our Environmental Services Group.
As a valued member of the J-U-B Environmental Services Group, the incumbentprofessional provides expert services in archaeology, architectural, andcultural resources inventory, evaluation, reporting and consultation. Theposition's primary role is to identify affected cultural resources in andaround project sites, and assist agencies in completing regulatorycompliance and identifying and implementing measures to avoid or minimizeadverPlans, conducts, and oversees archaeological and architectural ClassI-III assessments for various types of planning and engineering projects.Represents J-U-B as a cultural resource professional at meetings withclients, sponsors, agencies, Tribal governments, and organizations.Conducts National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis,authors cultural resource and other resource sections of NEPA documents andprovides subject matter input for cultural resource concerns.Assists private, municipal, state, federal, and Tribal clientsin meeting federal, state, Tribal, and local cultural resourcecompliance requirements as they apply to specific projects.Prepares and tailors cultural resource investigations, reports, andrelated services for regulatory compliance and provides expert guidance forconsultation with the State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) andTribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO).Ensures compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act(NHPA) and related federal, state, and local laws and regulationsrelating to preserving cultural and historic sites on projects assigned, toinclude expertise in assisting agencies in required consultation with theSHPO, Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, federally recognizedTribes, cooperating agencies, and other interested stakeholders.Assists in the preparation of Section 4(f) documentation (23 CFR Part 774).Develops a cultural resource program within J-U-B's EnvironmentalServices Group structure; may supervise employees in the future.Manages and assists in preparing scopes of work and cost estimates andthen manages cultural resource contracts.Manages projects from conception to completion, interacting withclients to successfully complete projects on schedule and within budget.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Experience as a Principal Investigator and Project Manager ordemonstrated ability to manage projects and develop business includingexperience preparing proposals.Meets Secretary of the Interior Professional Qualification Standards forArchaeology (36 CFR Part 61).Meets Secretary of the Interior Professional Qualification Standards forArchitectural History or Historic Architecture (preferred but notrequired) (36 CFR Part 61).Capability and certification, where applicable, to conductarchaeological and cultural resources work in multiple states or able toobtain certification within 6 to12 months in western states.Experience preparing environmental studies under NEPA and familiaritywith federal and state cultural resource laws and regulations: examplesinclude Section 106 of the NHPA; Archaeological Resources Protection Act(ARPA); Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act(NAGPRA); and Federal Transportation Section 4(f).Training or experience consulting with federally recognized Tribalgovernments is preferred.Ability to read and understand construction documents including plansand specifications.Ability to travel and spend extended periods in the field, working ong days, hiking rough terrain in rugged conditions in hot or coldenvironments, and carrying up to fifty pounds.Able to maintain vehicle privileges within service areas, includingU.S. driver's license.Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, use of GPS, GIS, and AdobeAcrobat or similar PDF editing software.Experience with data collection, storage, and filing best practices.Must have a positive attitude, excellent written and verbalcommunication abilities, strong organizational skills, and ability to usetechnology.
Salary Range:$90,000 - $140,000 Determined by experience.
