About Shriver Job Corps Center
The Shriver Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Plumbing, Painting, Security and Protective Services, HVAC, Landscaping, Electrical, and Building Construction Technology.

Shriver Job Corps is currently seeking a dedicated Career Transition Specialist to join our team. As a Career Transition Specialist, you will play a crucial role in empowering our students to transition smoothly from education and vocational training to meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities.
Responsible for providing students with transitional support and placement services leading to full-time jobs, higher education, or advanced training. Works cooperatively with Career Technical Training and Career Transition staff to provide students with comprehensive and individualized case management to identify and remediate students transitional barriers. Uses proper discretion and judgment to resolve issues and ensure student success after Job Corps. Conducts effective community job development activities with key business and community leaders.
Responsibilities:
Career Counseling:
Conduct individual assessments to identify students' career goals, interests, and skills.
Provide personalized career counseling to assist students in developing realistic and achievable career plans.
Job Placement Assistance:
Collaborate with local employers, industry partners, and employment agencies to identify job opportunities for students.
Facilitate job placement activities, including resume building, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
Skills Development:
Develop and implement workshops and training programs to enhance students' employability skills, including communication, teamwork, and professionalism.
Provide guidance on networking, professional etiquette, and workplace expectations.
Follow-Up Support:
Establish and maintain post-placement relationships with students to ensure their successful integration into the workforce.
Offer ongoing support and resources for career advancement and continued professional development.
Community Engagement:
Foster strong relationships with local businesses, industries, and community partners to expand job placement opportunities.
Represent Shriver Job Corps at job fairs, networking events, and community outreach activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field from an accredited school; or Associates degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field from an accredited school and two years related experience. Must possess a valid instate Drivers License and meet the Company insurability requirements.
