Job Description:

Performs a variety of industrial electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Work involves: installing or repairing any of a variety of industrial electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, chiller units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment, while maintaining repair and maintenance records. Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, in accordance with the NEC. Locating and diagnosing problems in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. Position will work with voltages up to 13.2kV to include maintenance/troubleshooting of switchgear and breakers. Perform switching medium voltage gear (5kV), in accordance with a switching plan. Perform installation of new systems (typically low voltage 600V). Position may be located in a wide variety of environments, from conventional indoor office workspace to project worksites with harsh, working conditions.

Supervision Exercised:

As directed by management, may supervise employees, Apprentice Electricians, or subcontractor personnel in accordance with the “General Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities” addendum, NEC standards, and report to Lead Maintenance Electrician.

Salary Rate: $38.00 to $48.00/hour + $4.98/hour Fringe

Positions covered by the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act or Davis-Bacon Act will comply with the statute requirements.
