Family Services cares for individuals who are isolated,abandoned or just need help developing the skills to live successfully.Our Crisis Center is seeking a full-time Overnight Crisis Counselor towork at our Green Bay location. Team members work a 2-2-3 rotation,enjoying every other three day weekend off! The Crisis Center providesresponsive and professional crisis counseling services on a 24 hourbasis to all residents of Brown County. The intent of the CrisisCenter\'s services is to provide short-term and responsive crisisintervention services to individuals in crisis situations. The CrisisCounselor works to resolve the immediate emotional impact of theclient\'s crisis situation. The Crisis Counselor may assist the clientin activating their problem solving skills and developing someadditional coping strategies to resolve his/her conflicts. The CrisisCenter offers short-term intervention; it does not provide on-goingtherapy or case management. We work temporarily with clients of othersystems to bridge the gap between immediate or emergency needs withlong-term treatment or therapy programs. The Crisis Center attempts toform appropriate links between the immediate service needs of anindividual in crisis and those community agencies that can serve theirneeds. A Bachelor\'s degree in the Human Services field is required.Extensive training is provided to new hires so new graduates areencouraged to apply. Full-time staff with Masters Degrees are providedthe opportunity to earn their 3,000 hours. Successful candidates arecommitted to our mission and have a working knowledge of human growthand development, mental health, adolescent psychology, marital andfamily structure, and the impact of the environment on individualbehavior. Candidates also need to be able to establish and maintainrelationships within and outside the agency in a professional manner.Time management skills and the ability to meet work demands on amoderately independent basis are required in this role.
