Description
This position is responsible for the supervision and direction to a crew responsible for the installation and maintenance of drainage pipes, catch basins, forming, pouring, and finishing concrete, and the operation of all related equipment. Responsible for ensuring all employees are following policies and procedures and working in a safe and effective manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, schedules and assigns work to crew via operations management software.
Updates, manages, and maintains all work activities in operations management software, i.e. Cartegraph.
Ensures necessary equipment and materials are available for job completion.
Responds to customers, citizens, contractors and various Lee County department inquiries and complaints sets-up work zone.
Supervises and directs staff to work at optimum performance.
Prepare and complete various forms, reports, correspondence, training records and performance evaluations on the computer.
Operate and maintain motor grader, back hoe, gradall, paver, roller, dump truck, spreader box and pickup truck with trailer. Operate hand and power tools.
Education, Experience, Licensing
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School graduation or GED equivalent and three years in installation and maintenance of drainage pipes, catch basin, forming, pouring, and finishing concrete and all related equipment, or closely related experience.
Possession of a valid Class A CDL driver's license with no Air Brakes restriction and an acceptable driving record is required.
This position is Safety-Sensitive and subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing as provided in DOT regulation 49 CFR-Parts 40 and/or 382.
Supplemental Information
Supervisory experience preferred.
Must be able to stand, sit, crawl, or kneel for long periods of time and work outdoors in all types of weather. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
Basic computer knowledge or willingness to learn is preferred.
Must possess strong communication skills, perform routine tasks by following oral instructions and complete various forms and paper work.
Must be able to read, write and hear within a normal range.
Must be able to interact with the public in a professional manner.
The work days and hours for this position are Tuesday through Friday; 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.
