This position are 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. on Mondays.This position will average 8-10 hours per week.
Essential Functions:
*Maintain electronic and/or paper files of the Court and provide Judge with necessary files and docket sheets.Update and file dockets at the end of each day.*Maintain Courts morning calendar and afternoon trial calendar.* Maintain courtroom control and flow of cases, especially during morning calendar.*Prepare the courtroom for the daily court activities; secure courtroom between hearings and at the end of the work day.* Review proposed minute entries and proposed orders submitted to the Court.*Serve as liaison to the Clerks Office, providing information and assistance as requested.*Oversee bench trials, enforcing Superior Court rules and monitoring Court proceedings.*Perform related duties as assigned.*Report directly to Judge for daily operational assignments; responsible to Court Administrator for payroll and personnel issues.
Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or GED.Must be at least 18 years of age.*Understands the standard practices and procedures of the Court and has the ability to oversee Court proceedings, including proper scheduling of Court hearings.*Knows or is able to learn an extent of legal terminology, standard legal documents and petitions, and has the ability to maintain and update Court files and dockets accordingly.Knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling and punctuation, with the ability to maintain accurate and organized files and prepare correspondence and documents as required.*Proficient in operating standard office equipment including, but not limited to, a computer, printer, scanner, audio recorder, copy machine, telephone, and fax machine.Ability to learn new procedures relating to office equipment.*Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with co-workers, other County departments, Clerks Office, attorneys, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, disabilities, as well as to gender, ethnic, racial and cultural diversities.*Ability to provide public access to or maintain confidentiality of department information and records according to state requirements.*Ability to comply with all employer and department policies and work rules, including, but not limited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct.*Capable of serving the public professionally and with diplomacy and respect, including occasional encounters with irate/hostile persons.*Understands verbal and written instructions and has the ability to memorize, retain, and carry out such instructions.Competent to work alone with minimum supervision and with others in a team environment.*Proficient with working under time pressure and balancing several tasks at the same time.*Ability to occasionally work extra hours.EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER 227 W.
