Department of Dance Costumer
This position is responsible for the design and costume construction for Department of Dance productions and performances, including the planning and development of schedules, budgets and purchases within the established limits.
*What you'll do in this position: *
Coordinate, design, build and purchase costumes, and accessories for the Department of Dance productions and performances, as requiredMaintenance and organization of Department of Dance production costume stock, materials and equipment as requiredSupport for costume shop managementTour administration to assist in the preparation and organization of current department tour productionsWhat qualifies you for this role:
Required
A firm commitment to the mission of BYU Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experiencePreferred
Master's degree in Costume Design and Construction or related field and 5 years of experienceProfessional level experience in the construction of costume and costume accessories and costume fitting and alterationsProfessional level experience in design, pattern making and draping costumes and costume accessories preferredWorking knowledge of costume materials including historical references and modern resourcesWorking knowledge of machinery used in the costume industry including, but not limited to: industrial and domestic single and multiple needle sewing machines, steam irons and cutting toolsWhat we offer in return:
