Corporate Health & Safety ManagerOverview:The Corporate Health and Safety Manager is responsible for the development,implementation, and management of Olgoonik's corporate safety standards,policies, programs, and culture.Primary Responsibilities:Designs and implements programs to enhance health and safety protocols at alllocations, helping the company to lower its overall risk and continuouslyimprove safety performance.Monitors, analyzes and reports enterprise wide HSE (Health, Safety andEnvironmental) metrics including leading and lagging HSE metrics results.Implements programs designed to focus on continuous improvement of thesemetricDevelops strategies to ensure compliance with applicable Federal and Stateregulations and Olgoonik HSE policies. Assists project locations in theimplementation of programs to address these requirements and ensurescompletion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.Provides consultation, education, and training for management on reducingrisks for the protection of employees and the environment. Advises projectsafety personnel regarding how they can improve safety practices, workplacesafety, and the safety culture at their respective locations.Manages the identification, development, communication and implementationof training and education efforts on a variety of safety, health andenvironmental topics.Conducts onsite audits and site risk assessments and provides guidance oncontrol measures driving closure of resulting Corrective Action Plans.Oversees the company's incident/accident investigation process,including identification of root cause, and ensures that local safety teamsare properly trained to conduct investigations and to develop and implementappropriate corrective actions.Manages central tracking for all identified hazards and audit deficiencies,with proposed control measures, until each task is implemented and completed.Responsible for Workers Compensation, Defense Base Act (DBA), andvehicle claims, to include claims reporting, management and resolution.Interprets and provides information on laws, regulations, and companypolicies and procedures. In consultation with senior leadership, developsand maintains corporate safety policies.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. However, it isresponsible for mentoring and guiding operational safety management and QCrepresentatives.Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree in a business-related field is required. Degree withdirect correlation to safety or risk management is preferred. Equivalentexperience may be substituted for the degree requirement on a year for yearbasis in addition to the standard experience requirement.Must have at least 5 years' of progressively responsible experience withdemonstrated expertise in health and safety. Experience must includeimplementing and managing HSE programs at a corporate or regional level.Experience in workers compensation claims management and resolution fordomestic and international cases is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of commercial construction or electrical, environmentalengineering, and government contracting.Must ave the ability to develop, implement, and manage a comprehensivesafety program.Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability toexercise positive leadership with people.Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and professionally withstaff of all levels.Ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision.Ability to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment onmultiple projects and have a strong attention for detail.Ability to supervise and coordinate projects.Extensive knowledge of applicable Occupational Safety and HealthAdministration (OSHA) standards.Knowledge of 29 CFR 1910, 1926 federal and state requirements and ERM 385.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar, equivalent safetydesignation is strongly preferred.
