Corporate Security Badging Office – Badge Technician I

About the role:

The Badge Technician I is primarily responsible for providing customer service support, facilities support,

phone call handling and trouble ticket resolution, as well as access management. While operating under

close supervision of the Shift Supervisor, a Badge Technician I is expected to independently execute a

number of standard operating procedures to support corporate employees and affiliates on a regular

basis.

This role will be part of a team of professionals working in a fast-paced and complex environment to

troubleshoot badging operations. Duties include, but are not limited to, helping corporate employees

and associates resolve their badging issues via phone, email, trouble ticketing, and in-person through a

Walk-Up service. Various administrative badging duties require good judgment and creative problem

solving, even in the absence of specific instructions, with a combined perspective of excellent customer

service and strong attention to detail as security specialists.

The successful applicant will be comfortable with shift-based work, have direct day-to-day contact with

our clients, and will need: outstanding communication skills, an exceptional ability to multitask, a great

attitude and work ethic, the ability to be a self-reliant team player, and the capacity to leave a

consistent positive impression with each and every interaction.

Experience:

1-2 years of experience in an administrative or customer service role

Experience working with security access control systems and badging applications/software (e.g. Lenel)

Skills and Abilities:

Excellent multitasking and ability to remain cordial and professional in stressful situations

Outstanding phone etiquette and strong people skills

Proactive problem-solving abilities

Capacity to learn and apply standardized operating procedures to support issue resolution

Positive attitude and outgoing personality

Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite

Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly

Typing speed of at least 35 wpm

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong computer skills, including proficiency with databases and badge management software

Excellent organization and attention to detail

Effective communication and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge of corporate security policies and access control procedures

*Shift schedules are set at time of hire and will require 6 months of performance meeting team

expectations before alternate available schedules can be requested.

Allied Universal® is hiring a Badge Technician. The Badge Technician is primarily responsible for customer service support, facilities support, phone call service and trouble ticket resolution, and access management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist customer employees and associates resolve their badging issues via phone, email, trouble ticketing, and in-person

Process badges and maintain appropriate logs regarding the issuance, return and track all associated actions

Monitor and regulate the daily activities to ensure compliance with site policies and procedures

Retain and maintain all access control documents, as well as conduct audits on access control records

Record and report any incidents to the Site Supervisor, Operations Manager, or Site Security Manager

Acknowledge and share pass down information with officers on shift

Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

High school diploma or equivalent

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment

Experience working with security access control as well as badging applications and/or software (e.g., Lenel)

Effective oral and written communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications

Able to assess and evaluate situations effectively

Identify critical issues quickly and accurately

Research, investigate, compile information

Write informatively, clearly, and accurately

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

Prior military or civilian law enforcement experience

College degree in Criminal Justice

Experience in a security operations center, military Tactical Operations Center, or similar environment

Supervisory experience, ideally in a security role

Administrative or customer service experience

Vacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly. Unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
