Direct hire (permanent) opportunity for a great company in South Central Pennsylvania.
HYBRID schedule - east coast time is preferable. Heavier traveling expected at first for training purposes and then travel will be expected about once per month.
SUMMARY:
The Corporate Accountant is primarily responsible for accounts payable and payroll for the commercial corporate entity. This role is also responsible for assisting with various reconciliations, audits and other ad hoc projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for day-to-day processes in the accounts payable function
Manage and maintain the corporate credit cards and the expense reporting system
Assist Corporate Controller with month end close, including reconciliations, general journal entries and internal reports
Cash management and monthly bank reconciliations
Prepare, communicate and track intercompany expense transfers
Prepare and submit sales and use tax returns
Maintain required internal controls and integrity of the accounting system
Serve as a resource to managers and supervisors for budget monitoring and budget development
Prepare and send vendor form 1099's
Process weekly payroll
Create and maintain documented standard operating procedures
Ad hoc analysis
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in business
1-3 years of accounting experience
1-3 years of payroll experience
Knowledge of GAAP
Strong accounting and general ledger knowledge
Proficient with technology in a computerized accounting function
Attention to detail and accuracy
Strong drive for professional growth
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word applications
Ability to stay organized, prioritize workflow and adhere to deadlines
Strong analytical skills
Self-motivated with an ability to work independently
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Maintains confidentiality at all times
PREFERRED QUALIFICTIONS:
1-5 years of professional accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
