The Coordinator II, Accounts Receivable is responsible for working with CarMax stores, external finance partners, customers, and other internal partners to resolve open receivables and customer service situations. The responsibilities in this role are cross-functional across multiple desks.
What you will do - Essential Responsibilities
• Research aging's related to contract receivable accounts, sales audit, auction accounting, and/or new vehicle accounts. Some specific examples could include new car incentives, warranty payments, store bank deposit corrections, and/or draft payments.
• Responsible for delivering an unrivaled customer experience. Communication with internal and external customers through the following methods: update PeopleSoft statuses and notes; emails and phone calls that come through the hotline and personal phone extension; follow up on outstanding issues and partner with associates in other departments and stores. Participate in call recording and formal call reviews (one on one with team manager and in a group setting with team)
• Perform basic accounting functions: run basic queries, complete journal vouchers, key PeopleSoft entries, maintenance open receivables, and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
• Apply payments to open receivable balances by retrieving Excel files, reviewing and reformatting Excel spreadsheets, and uploading payments in PeopleSoft. Research and resolve incomplete deposits, as necessary.
• Other tasks as assigned may include, but are not limited to, small scope business research or participation in process improvement initiatives
Qualifications and Requirements
• Minimum of 3+ years of business experience, including 1+ years of accounting, finance or related experience (i.e. bookkeeping, cash management, office management) required or a related business degree
• Account reconciliation experience preferred
• Intermediate level of Microsoft Excel required (i.e. Filtering, VLookups, Subtotals, Shortcuts); basic level of MS Access preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent

Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA Home Office and have a Hybrid work arrangement.
