This is a part-time/temporary position that will provide high-school and/or secondary students the opportunity to pursue a career in industrial services.Co-op opportunities could exist for the following positions: Mechanics, Utility Operators, Manual Machinists, CNC Machinists, and Winders. As a Junior (Co-op) technician for IPS, you will apply innovative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail and customer focus to repair industrial pumps, AC/DC electric motors, generators, gearboxes, or create CNC parts while supporting our continuous improvement process culture.On-the-job training may include:Basicmotor documentation- learning the importance of a motornameplateLearning and utilizing the basic principles of measuring tools, metal working tools, electric drills, grinders, and wrenchesDisassembly of electrical apparatus: Electric Motors, Fans, Pump, and gearboxesInspecting and cleaning of parts: remove grease and dirt, remove corrosion, check for evidence of wear orrubbingAssist in making gaskets, bearing installation, and basic mechanicaltasksRun CNC machines under supervision.
Qualifications and Competencies:Able to perform basic mathfunctionsBe 17 years ofageCapability to follow instructions given by thetrainerA willingness to "get your hands dirty" while working on rotating equipment.
