　　Description

　　The Cook position is responsible for coordinating the Head Start site’s nutritional activities to ensure the serving of meals and snacks to children which meet industry standards and regulations.

　　Responsibilities include:

　　Preparation of meals and snacks for children enrolled in Head Start classes.

　　Coordination food and kitchen supply ordering and inventory management, working with site supervisor, staff, and outside suppliers.

　　Ensure proper food preparation/serving, sanitation, and infectious control practices according to state/federal regulations as well as agency standards.

　　Assist children/families regarding nutrition options.

　　Complete data collection and record-keeping documentation.

　　Starting at $16.27 per hour; Monday-Friday; 35 hours per week

　　QUALIFICATIONS

　　High School Diploma or GED and knowledge of food service industry. Recommended: experience working in a childcare setting. Experience in food service is preferred, but willing to train. Bi- or Multi-Lingual is a plus.
