Schulte Boutique and Lifestyle, LLC seeks seven (7) temporary, full-time seasonal cooks from 04/01/2024 to 11/03/2024 at the worksite of 8593 Cudahy Circle, Mackinac Island, MI 49757 to season and cook food according to recipes, manager's instructions, and/or personal experience; prepare food according to specifications for breakfast, lunch, dinner and banquets; maintain high sanitation standards throughout the area of responsibility; ensure organized and clean storage areas for all food; ensure that all food items are properly handled and stored at the conclusion of the shift; properly rotate inventory; maintain clean and orderly storage areas and product pars; work with manager to create specials and other menu variations; clean and sanitize all dishes, glassware, utensils and pots; maintain dish room and dish machine; restock all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots and pans; remove all garbage; break down, clean and sanitize the dish machine at the end of the shift; keep dish and other storage areas clean and organized; assist with cleaning other areas of restaurant as requested; perform various other duties as assigned.
Requirements: No minimum education or prior work experience is required.
Special Requirements: Ability to communicate effectively; prolonged periods of standing and working in a kitchen; exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times; manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks.
Work Schedule: Employer offers at least 40 hours of work per week. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday with two shifts available (8:00 am to 5:00 pm or 4:00 pm to 12:00 am).
Wages: $17 per hour. Overtime hours may be available based on business needs at a rate of $25.50 per hour.
Single Workweek for computing wages due and Frequency of Pay: Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages use. Workers will be paid biweekly.
On the Job Training: On-the-job training will be provided.
Deductions from Pay: Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by federal, state, or local laws. Subsidized on-site lodging is offered at a rate of $125 per week. If utilized, Employer will deduct for the cost of lodging at the rate of $125 per week.
Board, Lodging, or other Facilities: Subsidized on-site lodging is offered at a rate of $125 per week. If utilized, Employer will deduct for the cost of lodging at the rate of $125 per week.
Transportation and subsistence: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
Daily Transportation to and from Worksite: Not provided. Subsidized on-site housing is within the walking distance of the worksite and public transportation is also available in Mackinac Island.
