Why Westminster?
Over the course of nearly three decades, Westminster Community Charter School has earned its place—not to mention the confidence of so many students, parents, teachers and administrators, and community leaders—as a K-8 school that creates lifelong opportunities and impacts in the classroom, at home, and throughout the Kensington-Bailey community.
INDIVIDUALIZED ATTENTION: Every student is unique—and that's how they're treated at Westminster. With a small student body (compared to many public schools) and robust teaching and support teams, we provide each student with the attention and resources they need to succeed.
Co-taught classrooms
Three counselors; two social workers
Multi-lingual teaching assistants
CROSS-GENERATION EXPERIENCES: At Westminster, families actively participate in their child's education, from quality time shared learning alongside their student to parent achievement programs that power individual growth. Families not only make memories here, they make progress together.
A full calendar of fun, family-centered activities
Resources for parents and families to continue their own learning
STRONG PARTNERSHIPS: Westminster's longstanding partnership with M&T Bank's Buffalo Promise Neighborhood makes so many cross-generation experiences that are core to being part of the Pride possible. Buffalo Promise Neighborhood (https://www.westminsterccs.org/why/buffalo-promise-neighborhood/) also helped establish an early childhood education center around the corner from Westminster, where many of our students start their journeys.
