Job Description
Cognosante is seeking to fill a SharePoint Modernization Specialist position in support of VA Cloud Operations and Migration Services (COMS) capability to provide operational input and support for the operations, maintenance, and refinement of VA’s Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) environment, execution support for migrating new and legacy VA applications and services to cloud computing and continuous improvement of VA’s IT infrastructure. The SharePoint Modernization Specialist will support our VA clients in their cloud operations to enhance, optimize, and maintain their computing capabilities across their technical landscape. This includes providing Tier II support for Microsoft Office 365, including Exchange email and SharePoint in a large environment covering approximately 172,000 sites, designing, innovating, implementing, and supporting Microsoft SharePoint solutions.
Key responsibilities
Design and implement Office 365 and related technologies, including but not limited to Exchange Online, Exchange Server, SharePoint, Active Directory, and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS Active Directory Synchronization)
Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert on SharePoint projects and issues with project outcome accountability
Assist in training end-users during all upgrade phases
Develop solutions for data migrations from an Office 365 Microsoft Private Cloud to the Government Cloud Computing environment
Analyze customer needs and document requirements and design technical solutions
Provide on-call support, 24 hours per day for 7 days per week (24/7) and assure timely resolution of problems. Work schedules may have to be adjusted for non-primetime maintenance windows.
Lead technical meetings and discussions
Required Qualifications
5 years of SharePoint Migration experience within the IT project field
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline or equivalent (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
Minimum of six (6) years setting up, configuring and using Azure cloud operational tools to ensure service level agreements and performance targets are met, and continued compliance with policies, standards and guidelines.
Extensive experience and knowledge to design, code, test, debug and document software in a variety of programming languages.
Knowledge of the latest programming languages and techniques.
Extensive experience in creating strategies for developing IT systems and applications. Has experience in evaluating alternative approaches and selecting optimal approaches.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency with SharePoint Content management.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency with developing Power Apps, Canvas, Power Automate, and Microsoft recommended practices where it concerns modernizations.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency with InfoPath Development.
Experience with triage and diagnosis of issues with Power Automates, PowerApps and Infopath.
Understanding of and basic PowerBI development and troubleshooting.
Must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous Federal Government experience preferably at VA
Experience working in a CMMI-DEV or CMMI-SVC environment at Maturity Level 3 or above
One or more Microsoft or Amazon cloud certifications
ITIL certification or experience with ITIL
Active clearance for Public Trust (High-Risk) Position
Microsoft certifications such as MCSD, MCTS, MCPD, MCSE, MCSA
Strong troubleshooting skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Microsoft Certification
Experience with server virtualization, storage, and networking
Prior experience with Microsoft Government Computing Cloud (GCC) Migrations and/or Microsoft Commercial Cloud migrations
Experience designing and implementing Microsoft Office 365, Exchange Server, SharePoint, and Active Directory
Direct experience migrating from SharePoint on-premise/hosted to SharePoint online through various migration methods (Cutover, Staged, Hybrid)
Experience with provisioning a virtualized cloud service environment
Knowledge of cloud system engineering principles and considerations
Experience with and/or deep understanding of Microsoft collaboration stack, including Office 365, Skype for Business, and SharePoint online
Proficient with PowerShell, PowerShell Workflow, and troubleshooting PowerShell ISE
ITIL v3 foundation knowledge
Consulting experience with large scale migrations to Microsoft Office 365/SharePoint
Experience with Shargate Software with SharePoint Online.
Experience with PowerBI development and troubleshooting
Experience with DataVerse and how to use and interface with SharePoint Online.

Compensation
$113,927.72 - $187,981.83
The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees.
