Job Summary The Convening Specialist develops and implements models to support learning within ECMC Foundation and across the fields of postsecondary education and philanthropy. This role involves close collaboration with subject matter experts to conceptualize programming, plan events and create collateral to share knowledge and insights with internal and external stakeholders. The Convening Specialist has a deep understanding of the postsecondary landscape and will establish and maintain strong relationships with partner organizations. The ECMC Foundation team observes a hybrid work model, working in-office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and working from home on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays with quarterly all staff in-person meetings in Los Angeles. Additionally, the Convening Specialist travels domestically up to 25% of the time to engage with partners. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design and implement multi-year learning strategy across the Foundation and with its partners, curating learnings from final grantee reports and disseminating learnings to the field Collaborate with staff to develop content frameworks, programming and associated event calendars to convene professionals, elevate learnings and build relationships across the field Plan and execute a variety of events including convenings, seminars, briefings, summits, employee engagements and other gatherings Manage outreach for speakers and attendees, providing support as primary point of contact Establish and maintain relationships with partner organizations Create timelines and organize activities to adhere to internal and external deadlines Coordinate onsite and online logistics to ensure successful in-person and virtual events Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop printed and electronic materials to enhance the event experience and broaden learnings to a larger audience Manage budgets and maintain relationships with vendors as needed Determine metrics to evaluate success and compile data for internal and external reports Develops a strong base of relevant content knowledge to ensure research and data are communicated clearly to relevant audiences Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Education, Communications, or related field 5+ years of experience developing programming for targeted audiences, including creating relevant content, planning event logistics, and communicating with participants Demonstrated experience working within or adjacent to postsecondary education institutions and systems Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage multiple project timelines and deliverables Exceptional verbal and writing skills, with the ability to rite clearly and concisely Proven work experience providing high levels of support for key partners (e.g. colleagues, event participants, etc.) Demonstrated ability to move work forward independently, gathering guidance and taking partners as needed Proven experience in project management, specifically organization, attention to detail, and ensuring successful completion of work deliverables on established timelines Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of the time Commits to ECMC Foundation's hybrid work model Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of postsecondary education institutions and systems Demonstrated ability to work in hybrid environment; regularly communicating progress of work deliverables to appropriate stakeholders Demonstrated experience developing and executing online surveys in SurveyMonkey or similar platforms To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Salary range for this position is $95,000-$105,000. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector and geographic location.
